How To Donate

The cost to run La Gran Familia for one year is about $125,000 or $10 per child per day. Comparable care in the United States costs about $100 per child per day. Much of this expense is paid with donations from churches in the United States and individual donors like you. Additionally, in recent years we have been able to secure some grants from Mexican corporations and foundations.

Instability of the Mexican Peso makes financing the support and care of the children, an ongoing challenge and we need your help. In addition to the typical monthly expenses of food, clothing, medical care and medicine, electricity, butane, gasoline, vehicle maintenance and repairs, staff salaries, school tuition, uniforms, and supplies, we have other expenses that are not as typical. These include tutors who work with children, as many of them are behind in their studies when they arrive; and a psychologist who helps the children work through issues around physical and emotional abuse. The need is great and your gifts are greatly appreciated.
